2. What Data We Collect

• Account information: Your email address and name, collected when you sign up via our authentication provider (Clerk).
• Audio and video files: Files you upload for transcription. These are processed and then deleted from our servers. We do not store the original media files after processing is complete.
• Transcription output: The text transcripts generated from your files are stored in your account so you can access them later.
• Usage data: Minutes of audio transcribed, number of transcriptions, and timestamps, used to enforce plan limits and for billing purposes.
• Payment information: Payments are processed by Creem.io. We do not store card numbers or payment credentials on our servers.

• To provide the transcription service and deliver results to your account.
• To manage your account, subscription plan, and usage limits.
• To communicate with you about your account, service updates, or support requests.
• To monitor service health and prevent abuse.
• To comply with legal obligations under applicable EU and Greek law.

4. Third-Party Services

To deliver the service, your data may be processed by the following third parties:

• Clerk (clerk.com) – Authentication and user account management. Clerk handles sign-up, login, and session management on our behalf. Your email address and credentials are stored and managed by Clerk. See Clerk's Privacy Policy.
• Creem.io – Payment processing and subscription management. Creem.io acts as the merchant of record for all transactions on TataText. When you purchase a subscription or top-up, your payment is processed by Creem.io, who issues the receipt and handles billing. You can manage or cancel your subscription directly through the Creem.io customer portal. We do not store your card details. See Creem.io's Privacy Policy.
• Groq / Whisper – Speech-to-text transcription. Audio chunks are sent to Groq's API for processing. Audio files are not stored by Groq beyond the duration of the API call.
• Google Gemini (via OpenRouter) – AI-powered text correction and refinement of transcripts.
• Modal Labs – Speaker diarization (identifying who is speaking). Audio may be sent to their infrastructure for this purpose and is not retained after processing.

All third-party providers are contractually bound to process your data only as instructed and in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

5. Data Retention

• We do not store your audio or video files. Uploaded files are deleted from our servers immediately after transcription is complete. They are never used for training AI models.
• Transcription results are retained in your account until you delete them or close your account.
• Account data is retained for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period thereafter as required by law.

As a resident of the European Economic Area, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
• Restriction: Request that we limit how we use your data.
• Portability: Request your data in a portable format.
• Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption in transit, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no system is completely secure — please use a strong password and keep your account credentials safe.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of TataText after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
